Chancellor (s) Edgardo Riveros attended the Senate Chamber today, where the bill amending various legal bodies to modernize the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was approved unanimously. After this second legislative step, the bill will return to the Chamber of origin for its third step.

"This unanimous vote reflects something very consistent in our country: foreign policy is a state policy, transversal, which generates consensus. Of course, modernizing the Foreign Ministry, providing it with the conditions to face a foreign policy of the 21st century is part of the interest of Chile's political representations as a whole", said the Minister (s).

Today's meeting also agreed to extend the stay of national troops and military assets in Bosnia and Herzegovina until 31 December 2018, reaffirming the national commitment to international peace and security.
