As part of his visit to the extreme northern areas of Chile, today Foreign Minister Roberto Ampuero will travel to the town of Visviri, located at more than 4,000 meters above sea level.

On the spot, the Chancellor plans to hold a meeting with the mayor of the municipality of General Lagos, Alex Castillo Blas. In addition, he will visit the boarding school in Visviri where he will share with the community of the school.

"I will visit a school where there are Chilean and Bolivian children and where integration is not a matter of rhetoric or words, but of real integration in everyday life," said the Foreign Minister, who added: "We are happy that Bolivian children also attend our schools, in these places so far away and so close to the border".

Prior to his transfer to Visviri, the Chancellor visited local artisans who export their alpaca fabrics from Putre to Belgium and the United States.

His tour of the north of the country began on Wednesday in Arica, where he met with the Mayor, visited the Port of Arica, the Colón 10 Museum and met with the entrepreneurs grouped in the Wiki Labs collaborative workspace. After this, he reached Socoroma, located 3,000 meters above sea level, where he met the members of the Oro Verde oregano cooperative.

For tomorrow, meanwhile, the Chancellor plans to move to Antofagasta.
